FARIDKOT:Taking an exception to the remarks made by the Shiromani Akali Dal-Bharatiya Janata Party (SAD) leaders during a meeting with Punjab governor VP Singh Badnore, the Bargari ‘morcha’ comprising Sikh various Sikh outfits has decided to send a delegation to meet Badnore soon.

The proposal has got nod from the parallel jathedar, Dhian Singh Mand, who is leading the Bargari protest. The delegation will have 10-15 people, with one person each from every panthic organisation besides political parties supporting the ‘morcha’.

On Tuesday, SAD chief Sukhbir Badal had alleged that the state government led by Captain Amarinder Singh was “taking Punjab back into an era of darkness by encouraging radical elements”.

“Anti-national forces want to silence Badal as he stands for Hindu-Sikh unity,” he had told the governor.

Parallel jathedar Baljit Singh Daduwal said their delegation will meet the governor to make him aware about the ground situation and that Sukhbir’s claims were false.

“We want to counter SAD’s claims that the ‘morcha’ is a threat to communal harmony in the state. We have not done a single thing against Punjab’s communal harmony,” he added.
