Cops raid hotel, arrest 12 for immoral trafficking
TARNTARAN: With the arrest of 12 persons, police have busted an alleged sex racket being run in a Tarn Taran hotel, Kakka Kandiala bypass, 5 km from the district headquarters on Friday.
The six couples were arrested in a compromising position, said police.
The owner and the manager of Daman Inn hotel have been running a sex racket for last few weeks, said police.
Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Darshan Singh Mann said, “Station house officer (SHO) of city police station, Chandar Bhushan, received secret information that a sex racket was being run by the hotel owner Deepak Singh and manager Prabhjot Singh.”
He said, soon after getting the information, a team-led by the SHO conducted raid at the said hotel. “During the raid, the team caught six couples from different hotel rooms. However, the hotel owner and manager managed to flee from the spot,” said the SSP.
SHO Chandar Bhushan said, “We had been receiving complaints from the residents living near the hotel. The arrested accused are all adults,” he said.
The police have also registered a case under Sections 3, 4,5, 6 of the Immoral Traffic Prevention Act, 1956 against the six couples and the hotel owner and manager at city police station. “Efforts are being made to nab the absconding accused,” he said.
