‘DISCLOSE NAMES OF THOSE INVOLVED IN HORSE TRADING’

-

asking governor Satya Pal Malik to disclose the people who were exchanging money for buying MLAs, former CM and National Conference (NC) leader Omar Abdullah on Thursday said that the state should have a new government within next six months.

Abdullah, while addressing a press conference in Srinagar, said,

“After the ongoing panchayat elections, we only need some time for preparation. If the assembly elections are not held before parliamentary elections, they should at least be held along with them so that within next six months, people have a new government,” he said. Abdullah said the elections won’t be fought by parties together. “I don’t think NC, PDP and Congress fighting elections together will in any way benefit Jammu and Kashmir because I believe legitimate political opposition voices are essential,” he said.

‘WHO BOUGHT WHOM’

Further, while dissolving the assembly, Malik cited reports of “extensive horse trading and possible exchange of money” to legislators as the reason for dissolving the assembly.

“We were three political parties together. This charge can’t hold in our case. But after our letter, the other letter which claimed to have support of 18 MLAs, governor sahab has said it on that letter that this is horse-trading... If the governor has these reports, they should be brought before people. Who was giving money, on whose behest and who was being bought? These should be answered,” Omar said.
