SAYS IT IS UNFORTUNATE THAT SOMEONE LIKE GOPAL CHAWLA, ANAIDE MASTERMIND HAFEEZ SAYEED, WAS A SPECIAL INVITEE AT THE EVENT

CHANDIGARH:Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal on Wednesday said Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan was using Punjab local bodies minister Navjot Singh Sidhu as a handmaiden tool to take ahead Pakistan’s agenda against India.

“The way Sidhu was behaving (at the groundbreaking ceremony in Kartarpur), he has become a willing tool in the hands of Pakistan government. This shows his non-seriousness over critical relations between India and Pakistan,” he said.

Stating that Sidhu has insulted his chief minister by sharing pleasantries with Pak army general Qamar Bajwa again, Sukhbir said now it was up to Punjab chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh to take action against Sidhu.

Sukhbir said it was unfortunate that someone like Gopal Singh Chawla, who is a close aide of Mumbai blasts mastermind Hafeez Sayeed, was a special invitee at the ceremony.

Former chief minister and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) patron, Parkash Singh Badal, on Wednesday congratulated the ‘Sikh Sangat’ at the culmination of foundation stone-laying ceremonies in India and Pakistan for construction of the Kartarpur Corridor. He said it was a moment of pride for him that the epoch event occurred during the NDA tenure.

The prayers of crores of “Nanak Naam Leva” Sangat have been answered after 71 years since the last resting abode of Guru Nanak was lost to the Sikh community. He, however, decried attempts made by certain elements to mar the sanctity of the occasion.
