SAYS NOT A SINGLE BULLET HAS BEEN FIRED IN KASHMIR SINCE ABROGATION OF ART 370

SRINAGAR: Contradicting several Union ministers of BJP, J&K governor Satya Pal Malik on Wednesday said they should not try to win Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) by war but by developing J&K and respecting its citizens to influence people living in PoK.

Governor Satya Pal Malik said that over the last 10 to 15 days, some ministers have been proclaiming that the next target is PoK. “Our ministers who don’t get a chance to speak on international issues are saying that next Pakistan Occupied Kashmir will be taken by force.

This is their view,’’ he said in the presence of Union (MoS) power, RK Singh.

Malik, however, said that instead of war they should win PoK by developing J&K and also gave a roadmap of how to win the other half of Kashmir.

DIGNITY, SECURITY FOR PEOPLE OF J&K

“We must give dignity to people of J&K, secure their children’s future, provide electricity and bring them business. I guarantee you that after PoK sees our developed state, within a year there will be revolt in PoK and people will demand to join us. We will win PoK without fighting a war.’’

The governor said that not a single bullet has been fired in the Kashmir since abrogation of Article 370, but false news is being spread about Kashmir. He said normalcy must be restored in Kashmir without any pressure. He also said that 22,000 students of J&K are currently studying in different states. “I have deputed special officers where Kashmiri students are in large numbers. We have to give them special treatment without any special law,” he said. Recently, Army chief Bipin Rawat said that they are awaiting directions from the country’s leadership on the issue of PoK. On Tuesday, external affairs minister, S Jaishankar said PoK is part of India and “expect jurisdiction over it one day.”
