State cabinet meet at Dera Baba Nanak today
BATALA : The district administration is all set to hold the state cabinet meeting at Dera Baba Nanak on Thursday.
The cabinet led by chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh will review various projects for the development of the historical town in the meeting. Before the meeting, chief secretary along with his team will hold a meeting with the representatives of Dera Baba Nanak Development Authority and later will take up the major issues with the CM during the cabinet meet.
The CM is expected to reach Dera Baba Nanak by 11.30 am and inspect the ongoing work of the Kartarpur corridor and the Integrated Check post (ICP) before attending the cabinet meet at 12.15 pm in the Dera Baba Nanak grain market.
Talking to HT, cooperation and jail minister and local MLA, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, said that the primary aim of this cabinet meet is to review the progress of various projects which was initiated by the state government for the development of this historical town.
To ensure proper law and order, Batala senior superintendent of police (SSP) Opinder Jeet Singh Ghumman along with Gurdaspur deputy commissioner Vipul Ujwal on Wednesday held a meeting with the heads of various departments. SSP said that more than 1,000 police personnel from Gurdaspur and Batala will be deployed at various points. Besides two superintendent of police (SP), 15 deputy superintendents of police (DSPs) and 60 Assistant sub inspectors (ASIs) will be deployed as well.
