KARNAL: Six persons were booked for assaulting three members of a family in Balraj Nagar area of Kaithal over personal enmity, police said on Saturday.

The injured identified has Rajrani, 50, her son Sushil Kumar, 27, and daughter-in-law Chandni, 25, had been admitted to the civil hospital, Kaithal, and their condition was said to be stable. The incident took place on the intervening night of October 17 and 18 when six masked assailants carrying sticks barged into their house.

The assailants allegedly beat up the two women inside the house and dragged the youth outside in the street and assaulted him with sticks. They were also caught on a CCTV camera thrashing the man outside his house.

The injured alleged that the accused also opened fire before fleeing.

The accused were identified as Sonu sixer, Aman Kumar, Sonu Sardar and three others residents of the same locality.

“The preliminary investigation suggests it a case of personal enmity as the accused had also filed similar complaint against the family a few months ago,” said Kaithal Civil Lines police station in-charge Prahlad Rai.

Rai said the police have registered a case under Section 148, 149, 323, 458 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Arms Act on the complaint of the assaulted family members.

He said that all accused are absconding and police teams are conducting raids to arrest them.
