JAI RAM THANKS PEOPLE FOR REPOSING FAITH IN BJP
SHIMLA : Chief minister Jai Ram Thakur on Thursday thanked the people of Pachhad and Dharamshala assembly segments for electing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates in the bypolls.
Thakur also expressed gratitude towards party workers for “working relentlessly” to ensure the victory of the BJP candidates— Reena Kashyap (Pachhad) and Vishal Nehria (Dharamshala). “People of both these constituencies have expressed faith and confidence in the policies and programmes of the current BJP government which is committed to the welfare of the people and development of the state,” the chief minister said.
Thakur said the state government has strived hard to meet the aspirations and expectations of the people during the last two years of its tenure and has initiated various welfare and employment-oriented schemes.
WON DESPITE CHALLENGE POSED BY REBELS: SATTI
State BJP president Satpal Singh Satti said the BJP emerged victorious on both seats of Dharamshala and Pachhad despite the challenge posed by the rebels who contested as independent candidates.
The BJP emerged victorious despite rebel candidates in the fray from both seats, Satti said, adding that the Congress candidate in Dharamshala even lost his deposit due to the poll management of the BJP and party workers’ hard work. The people of the state had again rejected the Congress, he added.
In reply to a question that the victory margin of the party came down in comparison with the 2017 assembly elections in Pachhad, Satti said the BJP succeeded in winning the seat despite the rebel candidate getting over 11,000 votes. HTC/PTI
