ANIL VIJ

Anil Vij, 66, is a bachelor, who is committed to RSS ideology. BJP’s sixth-term MLA Vij has an uncanny knack for blasting his rivals with biting remarks. He is the senior most legislator of the BJP. Vij is a Bachelor of Science graduate and he was health minister in the last term. He first became MLA in 1990. The former state president of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, Vij initially worked in State Bank of India. Since 2009 he has been winning continuous­ly.

MOOL CHAND SHARMA

Mool Chand Sharma, 55, is Ballabhgar­h segment MLA of the BJP. The second-term legislator Sharma, who has done his postgradua­tion in history, is a relative of former education minister Ram Bilas Sharma. He had unsuccessf­ully contested the assembly elections in 1987, 1996 and 2009 as an INLD candidate. After switching to BJP, he became MLA in 2014. He is among the few BJP MLAs who have won with big margins.

JAI PARKASH DALAL

Jai Parkash Dalal, 63, has won from Loharu segment. Once considered a close confidant of Bansi Lal family, he is a first time legislator of the BJP. The arts graduate and civil engineer Dalal defeated Bansi Lal’s son-in-law Somvir Singh of the Congress by 17,677 votes. In 2009 and 2014 polls, he lost by narrow margins.

KANWAR PAL

Kanwar Pal, 59, is a BJP’s MLA from Jagadhri. He has studied up to BA II. Kanwar Pal was speaker of Haryana Vidhan Sabha in the previous BJP government. Inspired by Sadhvi Ritambara, he had jumped into the Ram Janam Bhumi movement in 1989 and joined the BJP in 1990. The third-term legislator and soft spoken Kanwar Pal will be among the handful of experience­d cabinet rank ministers in the BJP-JJP coalition government.

RANJIT SINGH

Ranjit Singh, 73, is an independen­t MLA from Rania. The second-term legislator Ranjit Singh is the son of former deputy prime minister Devi Lal. It is nearly after 28 years that he reached Haryana Vidhan Sabha and became cabinet minister due to coalition compulsion­s of the BJP. He is a former Rajya Sabha MP. He served as agricultur­e minister when his father was the CM of Haryana in 1987. He had unsuccessf­ully contested assembly polls in 2009 and 2014 as a Congress nominee.

DR BANWARI LAL

A physician by profession, Dr Banwari Lal, 62, who was sworn as cabinet minister represents the Bawal assembly seat. It is the second time that he has won from here on a BJP ticket. He is said to be a confidant of Union minister Rao Inderjit Singh, who ensured that he got the ticket from Bawal. Dr Lal is the only BJP MLA given a ministeria­l berth from Gurugram Lok Sabha constituen­cy.
