Now, get medical assistance for livestock at your doorstep: CM
KARNAL: Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Saturday announced that the state government will soon launch veterinary mobile dispensaries to ensure livestock get timely medical assistance.
Khattar, who was addressing a gathering on the second day of a three-day state-level cattle fair and exhibition, organised by the animal husbandry department at the National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI ) at Karnal said the Pashu Sanjivani Seva will be highly beneficial for dairy farmers as they will be able get treatment for their animals at their doorstep.
He added that the state government had set a target to increase the per-capita availability of milk to 1,130g from 1,087g.
“Currently, Haryana is the second-largest producer of milk in India. However, if we increase the per-capita availability to 1,130g, we will be able to surpass Punjab, which has an availability of 1,115gm,” Khattar said, adding that to achieve the target, come April 1, the state government will be providing sexsorted semen for ₹200 per dose instead of ₹450.
The CM urged farmers to adopt natural farming and take advantage of government schemes launched to increase their income. He also announced that the state government will introduce a livestock credit card scheme with a limit of ₹3 lakh for dairy farmers.
On the government’s failure to check cheating in board exams, Khattar said strict action was being taken against the officials, teachers and cops found involved in the matter. He added that the government had already taken action against many teachers caught abetting cheating in the board exams.
The CM also visited an exhibition and enjoyed a camel ride.
