An amendment in Punjab Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes (Reservation in Services) Act, 2006 implemented to fill vacant posts by promotions for SC employees with 14 per cent reservation in Group-A and Group-B category and 20 per cent reservation in Group-C and Group-D.
