Northern Railway cancels Shatabdis till March 31
CHANDIGARH: In view of poor occupancy amid coronavirus outbreak, the Ambala division of Northern Railway has decided to cancel 59 trains, including all Shatabdis, till March 31..No passenger train between Himachal Pradesh’s capital Shimla and Kalka of Haryana’s Panchkula district will run from Saturday till further orders, Ambala senior DCM Hari Mohan said.

12 MORE TRAINS CANCELLED IN FEROZEPUR DIVISION
FEROZEPUR : The railways on Friday cancelled another dozen trains in the Ferozepur division on Friday as a precautionary measure.
“Based on advisory issued by the Government of India to avoid unnecessary travel, occupancy of some of trains has come down. In order to avoid unnecessary exposure to the staff and make optimum use of cleaning resources, 12 more trains have been suspended,” Rajesh Aggarwal, divisional railway manager, Ferozepur, said.
The cancelled trains include Delhi Sarai Rohilla to Pathankot, Pathankot to Delhi Sarai Rohilla, New Delhi-Ferozepur Cantt, Firozepur Cantt-New Delhi, Jabalpur-Atari, Atari-Jabalpur, Delhi Sarai Rohilla to Udhampur, Udhampur to Delhi
Sarai Rohilla, Tirupati-Jammu Tawi and Jammu TawiTirupati.
Aggarwal said in March, 4.2 lakh passengers cancelled their reservation leading to refund of about ₹26 crore.
NO CONCESSION TO SENIOR CITIZENS, WAR WIDOWS
LUDHIANA:Railways will not allow any concession on tickets to senior citizens, war widows and awardees to discourage them from travelling in trains amid coronavirus outbreak.
Divisional railway manager, Ferozepur, Rajesh Aggrawal tweeted on Friday that in view of health advisory issued regarding COVID-19, it has been decided that no concessional tickets for all categories of passengers, except students; four categories of divyangjan and 11 categories of patients, are applicable with effect from March 20 till further advice.
