10 of 22 Haryana dists affected
CHANDIGARH: Of total 22 districts of Haryana, 10 have been affected by Covid-19 till date, states the official data as on Thursday. The trend in sample results of the suspected cases shows that 80.3% of them were found to be negative.
Out of total 35 positive cases reported from 10 districts, 10 have been registered from Gurugram, six from Faridabad, four each from Panipat and Palwal, three each from Sirsa and Ambala, two from Panchkula while there has been one case each in Hisar, Sonepat and Rohtak.
Importantly enough, of these 35 cases, nine patients in Gurugram, two in Panipat and one patient each from Faridabad and Palwal have been discharged so far. This means that there are only 22 active cases in state as of now.
Also, even though 14,703 people are under surveillance in Haryana currently, samples of 1,102 people with foreign travel history or symptoms have so far been taken of which, 885 have been found to be negative, while the reports of 182 are awaited.
Senior doctors, including Haryana integrated diseases surveillance programme head Dr Usha Gupta, opine that the state has done better since the beginning in identifying and quarantining the suspected patients as well their contact populations, except for the latest development pertaining to the visitors to the markaz at Nizamuddin.
Even after this, the state quickly identified as well as isolated them and took their samples, reports of some are awaited.
