Actor Mona Wasu, who is best known for having played the titlular character in the TV series Miilee, has since appeared in various shows and commercials. Mona, who was in talks for shooting for a new film, says, “Everything has been halted.”

The actor who has acted in shows such as Parichay and Radhaa Ki Betiyaan Kuch Kar Dikhayengi says under lockdown most of her time is spent in taking care of her cats. Mona, who has 12 cats, says, “I have many pets and currently there is no one to look after them apart from me. It is a 24hour job.”

When asked how the Covid19 crisis is going to affect artistes like herself, the Maazii (2013) actor says, “I feel artistes are going to be affected quite terribly. I don’t know when we will really get to shoot at a set next, and we are all freelancers. There is nobody who will give us salaries if we are sitting at home and no one will give us subsidies either.”

But reflecting on the plight of several daily wage labourers who perhaps do not even have a roof over their heads, Mona adds, “I guess there are many other people such as daily wage earners and migrant labourers, and homeless people, who are suffering a lot. I consider myself privileged and lucky that I have a house to self quarantine, and food to eat.”
