This quarantine is the need of the hour and a necessity,” says actor Sidharth Shukla who is “fine” during the lockdown as he is “staying with people” he knows and is close to. From being busy everyday. Sidharth is now home bound. He says, “If you are sitting at home with no work, then it can be frustrating. And one should work towards it. In the current times, we all understand the gravity of the situation and are sitting at home as a service to mankind, our nation and ourselves. ”

Shukla is enjoying not having a routine “right now in life”. He helps his mum at home with chopping vegetables and cleaning dishes. Recently, a video of him making chapatis and rotis went viral.

“These are normal activities at home which most of us do. But when people don’t expect certain people to be doing such things, it becomes novel for them and sometimes, a motivator, too. I am as normal as the next guy,” he says.

The actor says that he misses his gym and after this is all over, he’ll head straight to the gym. Also, he adds that he “would love to go for a drive as this is a great time to drive due to empty roads. But of course, we can’t and shouldn’t”.

After a surge in his popularity in showbiz, the actor had a number of professional assignments lined up, which are now on hold. He says, “The pandemic will cause a huge loss to economies around the world and people. And if I am one of them, I don’t think it is such a big deal. It is embarrassing to even talk about my loss today. I feel sorry for the daily wage workers who are facing a tough time. I am glad there are people helping as many of them as possible in this dire situation. Many, who lose a job today, might get one in the future. But these workers live hand-to-mouth and it is a question of life and death. Their suffering is unimaginable.”
