HC stays Haryana move to hold exam for those opting for science in Class 11
CHANDIGARH: The high court on Monday stayed a Haryana government move to hold examination for students who are opting for science subjects in class 11.
The high court passed the order on the plea of National Independent Schools’ Alliance.
The alliance had challenged Haryana school education board’s order, directing students to take an examination. The board had also asked the school authorities to upload the consent of such students for the examination on the website by June 17. The schools had told court that the government’s move was discriminatory in nature. The schools also termed the move in violation of guidelines issued by the MHA s under Disaster Management Act, 2005.
The court has sought response from the government and the board by July 6 further directing that the conduct of the examination will remain stayed till the next date of hearing.
