July 1 is observed as National Doctor’s Day in our country. It is celebrated not just in remembrance of the great Indian physician Dr BC Roy but also in honour of all doctors who work continuously and relentlessly throughout the year. The Covid-19 pandemic has multiplied their responsibilities and risks manifold. Their commitment and valour deserve to be saluted. While we stay safe in our homes, they fight the deadly virus on the frontline. Sadly, these days they are afraid of visiting their own homes and meeting their loved ones lest they infect them.
