Fear can’t stand in way of Avinash’s work

- Shreya Mukherjee

Light men, spot boys, sound artists — there are many in the entertainment industry who need to work to run their kitchen,” says actor Avinash Mukherjee, adding, “The fight against the odds must continue for those who earn to take care of their families. We shouldn’t take any step back from here.”

Asked if the news of his fraternity members testing positive for Covid-19 made him think twice about stepping out, Mukherjee says he doesn’t let fear play on his mind. “We all know that the virus is out there and there’s no vaccine yet. We can focus on how to stay fit, build our immunity. If any one gets infected, rather than panicking, we should take necessary action. Fear le kar nahi, precaution le kar chalna hai,” says the actor, who has resumed shooting for his show.

Mukherjee, 23, shares that adequate safety measures are being taken on the set of the show and immunity boosting kadhas, warm water, food and fruits are also being served. “There are several hands-free sanitiser pumps all around. Proper fumigation and checks are being done. However, the atmosphere on the set has changed though; it looks like we’re on some space mission. You can only smell sanitisers and nothing else,” he says.

And as Mukherjee lives with his parents, he takes proper precautions on returning home. “I wash my hands and feet, and do a rigorous 45minute workout. Then I take a shower. We’ve to do all these things to keep our family safe and go on working,” he says.
