ROHTAK: Former chief minister and leader of opposition in the Haryana assembly, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, on Friday said the government should immediately repeal the three agricultural laws and provide a guarantee of minimum support price (MSP) on 23 crops.

Addressing a press conference at Jhajjar, Hooda said the Union government brought these laws to benefit corporate houses rather than farmers.

“I fully support the demands of farmers and have been standing with them. The government is ignoring both the farmers as well as youth and today, the former are suffering in the cold and the latter are facing unemployment,” he added.

Before the press conference, Hooda visited the family of Rajouri braveheart Naib Subedar Ravinder at Salhawas village and paid homage to him.

Will resign if govt doesn’t accept demands: Abhay

INLD general secretary and Ellenabad MLA Abhay Singh Chautala on Friday announced to resign from the Haryana assembly if the government failed to accept the farmers’ demand by January 26.

Interacting with reporters at Jakhoda in Jhajjar, Abhay said he will send his resignation as an MLA from Ellenabad to Haryana assembly speaker Gian Chand Gupta on January 27, if the government did not accept the farmers’ demands.

“I will start my village-level tours from Saturday across the state. I will urge the people to send at least one person from their house to Delhi’s borders. Once I will resign from the Haryana assembly, no one would restrict my entry to the farmers’ stage,” he added.

Samyukt Kisan Morcha leader Yogendra Yadav said Haryana deputy CM Dushyant Chautala should withdraw the support from the BJP government, otherwise he would be known as a “traitor” in his entire political journey.
