Punjab’s ADGP Sinha, IG Gautam to be honoured during R-Day celebrations
CHANDIGARH : Punjab additional director general of police (ADGP prisons) Praveen Kumar Sinha and inspector general of police (IG, financial investigation unit) Ananya Gautam will be conferred with the President’s police medal for distinguished service on Republic Day.
Also, three personnel from the state police’s organised crime control unit (OCCU), including deputy superintendant of police (intelligence) Bikramjit Singh Brar, ASI Sukhwinder Kumar and head constable Parwinder Singh will be awarded police medal for gallantry.
Ludhiana police commissioner Rakesh Agrawal, SSP (vigilance bureau, Ludhiana) Rupinder Singh, SBS Nagar SP (headquarters) Manvinderbir Singh, Bassi Pathana DSP Sukhminder Singh Chauhan and DSP (Punjab Police Academy, Phillaur) Ashok Kumar are among 16 personnel selected for the police medal for meritorious service.
Others are inspectors Prabhjit Kumar, Kulwant Singh; SIs Som Nath, Nirmal Singh, Avtar Singh, Sukhjit Singh; and ASIs Jaspal Singh, Parminder Kumar, Daljit Singh, Shinder Pal and Anil Kumar.
On the recommendations of the state government, the Punjab governor on Monday announced to bestow the chief minister’s Rakshak Padak award on ASI Subash Chander for displaying the highest level of courage by saving the life of a citizen.
