Kurukshetra University gives students online, offline exam options
THE UG THIRD SEMESTER EXAMS WILL BE CONDUCTED FROM MARCH 6 AND UG FIRST SEMESTER FROM MARCH 10.
KARNAL: Four days after the Kurukshetra University had decided to conduct all examinations of odd semesters of the undergraduation and postgraduation classes in offline mode, the university has now decided to give both online and offline options to the students.
As per a fresh circular issued by the university on Saturday, the UG third semester exam will be conducted from March 6 and UG first semester from March 10. Students will have both the options to appear in exams and head of the institutions and colleges will take consent of students about their choice.
Vice-chancellor Somnath Sachdeva said the decision was taken following suggestions given by the student unions and teachers of the university and colleges.
He added that safety of the student is top priority of the university. Some unions had suggested that students will not be able to appear in offline exams due to restrictions on travelling as thousands of students of the varsity belong to different states.
Even the students suffering from Covid and those from outside India will have to appear in the exam online. Earlier, the university had decided to conduct the exam offline and a circular in this regard was issued by the university on February 9.
However, the decision was condemned by student unions and they had threatened to boycott the exams.
The university has provided relief to students as they will be required to attempt 75% of a question paper. Students will be given three-and-a-half-hours for attempting the exams.
