ROHTAK: Dissatisfied with the Rohtak police’s probe into the killing of six persons at Jat College’s wrestling arena here on February 12, family members of the victims have demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the matter.

Pramoj Malik, younger brother of coach Manoj, said that his family has lost three members in the firing and they are not satisfied with the police probe.

“The case should be handed over to the CBI. We want to know how the accused managed to flee to Delhi after committing the crime and how a single man could commit such killings,” he added.

Rohtak superintendent of police (SP) Rahul Sharma said that he has written to the district and sessions court judge to move the case to the fast-track court. “We had sent clothes used by the accused while committing the crime to forensic lab to match the blood attached to his clothes with that of the victims. We have started a speedy probe and will demand strict punishment for the accused,” the SP added.

An SIT member, on condition of anonymity, said, “Sukhvinder first killed coach Pradeep Malik. He then proceeded to kill coaches Manoj Kumar, Satish Dalal, Manoj’s wife Sakshi and national-level wrestler Pooja. He killed the three coaches in one room and the two women in another and locked the gates.”

“After shooting five people dead, Sukhvinder brought Manoj and Sakshi’s three-yearold son, who was playing with his cousin on the ground floor, to the room where his mother and Pooja were killed and shot him in the head,” the official said. Meanwhile, independent MLA from Meham, Balraj Kundu met the family members of Pradeep Malik in Mokra village. He has written to Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar, state home minister Anil Vij and DGP Manoj Yadava demanding probe by either CBI or a sitting judge of the high court in this matter.
