POLICE HAVE SHOWN A SOFT CORNER AND FAILED TO NAB THE 3 STF PERSONNEL, SAID HEAD OF PHOGAT KHAP

ROHTAK: Representatives of Khaps and other people gave an ultimatum to the Dadri police to arrest three cops of the Rohtak special task force (STF) by Tuesday in connection with an alleged February 7 fake encounter of Binder alias Bijender near Mahendergarh Chowk in Dadri.

Four cops were suspended and one was arrested by the Dadri police in the case.

The suspended cops are assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Hitender Kadian, cyber cell ASI Ranbir Singh, constables Sachin and Harinder. The Dadri police had recovered a car and pistol used in the ‘fake encounter’ from Harinder. Other three are yet to be arrested.

Balwant Nambardar, head of the Phogat Khap, said police have shown a soft corner towards the three STF personnel in connection with the fake encounter and has failed to nab them. “Two weeks have passed and police are yet to arrest three STF personnel. If the Dadri police fail to arrest them by Tuesday, we will block all roads in district,” he added.

Dadri superintendent of police (SP) Vinod Kumar had said that a man was shot dead by car-borne men at Mahendergarh Chowk in Dadri on February 7. “During investigation, we collected CCTV footages and found that the assailants had used a red SUV to commit the crime. After tracing the car used in the crime, we got to know that the man was killed by a team of Rohtak STF, who were tracing the murder accused of Vikas alias Vicky, a resident of Baliyani village in Rohtak, who was shot dead in broad day light last week,” he had added.

The SP said that they had arrested Harinder, who confessed to the fake encounter.
