FARIDKOT : Four Dera Sacha Sauda followers booked in two 2015 Bargari sacrilege incidents are yet to be released from jail for not being able to furnish bail bonds, or surety bonds, even as it has been three days since they got bail in both the cases.

On July 20, judicial magistrate Tarjani granted bail to Sukhjinder Singh, alias Sunny and Ranjit Singh, alias Bhola of Kotkapura, Shakti Singh of Daggu Romana village and Baljit Singh of Sikhanwala village in Faridkot district in the Bargari sacrilege case.

But the accused were not be released as they were in judicial custody in another sacrilege incident wherein derogatory posters were pasted near gurdwaras at Bargari and Burj Jawahar Singh Wala villages in Faridkot district on the intervening night of September 24 and 25 in 2015.

But they were granted bail in the derogatory poster case on Tuesday.

While granting bail, the court directed them to furnish bail bonds of Rs 90,000 each, besides one surety of the same amount each in the two cases separately. The accused have not furnished bail bonds in any case.

The Sirsa-based sect, it is learnt, is taking less interest in pursuing the sacrilege cases in which its followers were named as accused. Not only there is delay in furnishing the bail bonds, the dera followers have not even tried to get copies of the chargesheets filed against them by the special investigation team (SIT) in the two cases.

The chargesheet in the Bargari sacrilege case was filed on July 9, while the one in the derogatory poster case was filed on July 20.

The four are among six dera followers who were arrested by the SIT led by inspector general of police (IGP, border range) Surinder Pal Singh Parmar on May 16. The remaining two, Nishan Singh and Pardeep Kumar, who were booked only in the first Bargari sacrilege case, have filed a bail petition in the sessions court that will take up the matter on Friday.
