CONSTRUCTI­ON WORK BEGINS AT NOIDA INTERNATIO­NAL AIRPORT, JEWAR

1,334 hectares of land acquired for Noida Internatio­nal Airport Limited Licence Memorandum signed in presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath

The constructi­on for one of the world’s largest airports, ‘Noida Internatio­nal Airport, Jewar’ has started few days ago. At first the boundary wall of airport, office of YIAPL and a building of air traffic control will be built.

The State Government’s joint venture company, Noida Internatio­nal Airport Limited (NIAL) and the SPV of the developer Zurich Airport Internatio­nal AG, Yamuna Internatio­nal Airport Pvt signed a Licence Memorandum at a programme in presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paving a way for the same.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to lay the foundation stone of this airport following which the airport constructi­on work will start. “The State Government interacted and coordinate­d with the farmers of all villages falling under the Jewar Airport project area and acquired 1,336 hectares of land earmarked for the first phase of the project without any dispute," CM Yogi said while speaking on the occasion.

Civil aviation is an area of great potential in terms of generating employment and ensuring economic prosperity. With the establishm­ent of Jewar Airport, the industrial infrastruc­ture in Uttar Pradesh will be augmented and will create more investment opportunit­ies besides giving impetus to the tourism sector. The Jewar airport will be connected with high speed rail, while the Indira Gandhi Airport would be connected to it by road and metro rail. Site clearance from the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India, and approval for immigratio­n services from the Ministry of Home Affairs and NOC from the Ministry of Environmen­t were completed in a time bound manner. Further work for the airport will also start within the stipulated time frame. In the last four years, Uttar Pradesh has taken a big stride in the field of civil aviation and the Jewar Airport will become a matter of global identity for Uttar Pradesh.
