HP green-lights Drone Policy

SHIMLA: The Cabinet approved the Himachal Pradesh Drone Policy on Monday to ensure that the youth of the state are able to avail employment opportunit­ies in the drone sector.

The policy aims to develop institutio­nal linkages with the National Education Policy, HP Industrial Investment Policy, HP Start-up and Innovation Scheme and National Skill Qualificat­ion Framework to harness opportunit­ies for students.

The Cabinet also gave nod to the Himachal Pradesh Logistics Policy to bolster industrial growth in the state through interdepar­tmental coordinati­on. Under the policy, investment from the private sector will be encouraged to develop Inland Container Depot, Common Facility Centres, Integrated Cold Chain, Logistics Parks, Truck Terminals, Air Cargo Facilities, Quality Testing Labs, and Integrated Cold Chain.

The council of ministers, under the chairperso­nship of chief minister Jai Ram Thakur, created 12 posts of mining inspectors, 24 posts of assistant mining inspectors and 24 posts of mining guards in the industries department to check illegal mining in the state.

It approved the creation and filling up of 16 posts of different categories for the newly approved government college at Nohradhar in Sirmaur district.

Forest land in Mauza Danoa in Baroh tehsil of Kangra was leased to the Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporatio­n for 99 years. A bus stand will be built on the spot.

New fire posts were created at Nihri in Mandi district and Jari at Dhaunkhra in Kullu district. Two new sub-fire stations will come up at Udaipur in LahaulSpit­i district and Killar in Chamba district.

The ministers okayed the upgrade of three fire posts in Chopal, Shillai and Keylong to sub-fire stations. They also created 129 posts of different categories and authorised the purchase of 16 vehicles.

The cabinet also decided to open a new veterinary dispensary at Bari in the Sundernaga­r municipal council.

Two new posts were created at the dispensary .

It also gave its approval to upgrade veterinary dispensary Thachi in Balichowki tehsil of Mandi district to a veterinary hospital. Three posts will be filled at the hospital.

The Government Railway Police outpost in Parwanoo will be re-opened in Solan district under the railway police station in Shimla, it was decided.
