LUDHIANA : A Ludhiana-based transporter, who is a close aide of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, had destroyed his phone on the day singer Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead, police said.

Police said that on May 29, the day of the singer’s killing, Chaudhary was near Shambhu border when he asked his aide Mani to destroy his phone and dump it in a nullah. However, no direct link of Chaudhary with the murder of Moose Wala has been found till now.

Following the information provided by Chaudhary, the police have arrested Mani and his another aide Ninder.

According to police, when Chaudhary had gone to get weapons from Jaskaran Singh alias Karan of Bhadson of Patiala, he was accompanied by Ninder. Two illegal weapons and 11 live cartridges were already recovered from Chaudhary.

Chaudhary was also spotted in CCTVs installed at a petrol pump in Bathinda with some suspects in a Toyota Fortuner before Moose Wala’s murder, they said.

Inspector Beant Juneja at CIA staff-2 said that more important information was expected from the accused.
