FARIDKOT : Mansa police have registered a case against unidentified persons following a complaint by slain Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala’s father Balkaur Singh that received a threat e-mail.

According to information, the threat e-mail has been received from Rajasthan. Balkaur had earlier too received similar threats through Instagram and e-mails.

“The recent email says that Balkaur should stop mentioning gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s name in his speech, otherwise he will face consequences and he should also stop appearing in court hearings of his son’s murder case,” said a police official.

Moose Wala was shot dead on May 29, 2022, at Jawahar Ke village in Mansa district.

Balkaur said he has been receiving threat emails continuously, due to which it is difficult for him to venture out of his house. “I want to ask the Union home minister and Punjab chief minister what is my fault that I am getting threats continuously?”

Balkaur also said during a protest outside the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, a cabinet minister had assured to arrange his meeting with the chief minister, but to no avail.

Addressing a gathering at Moosa village, Balkaur said he will neither go to the government nor to any officer to seek justice for his son. “I will only pray to the God, who will give justice,” he said.

On March 7, Moose Wala’s parents staged a protest outside the Vidhan Sabha building in Chandigarh during the budget session demanding justice for their son’s murder and a CBI inquiry into the case.

“During the protest, cabinet minister Kuldeep Dhaliwal assured to arrange a meeting with chief minister Bhagwant Mann in March, but no time has been given so far,” said Balkaur.
