Khattar starts 3-day ‘jan samvaad’ in Palwal
CHANDIGARH: Haryana chief minister (CM) Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday kicked off the three-day ‘jan samvaad’ programme in Palwal district on Wednesday and made a slew of announcements while visiting different villages and interacting with rural folks.
The CM announced that libraries would be set up in five villages, including Bahin, Hathin, and Mandkola. He said Rs 3.6 crore has been sanctioned for Mandkola village for this financial year.
Khattar said the sewerage system would be further strengthened and that rejuvenation of ponds would be done in 10 mahagrams of the surrounding area. Khattar will cover 15 villages during his three-day visit of Palwal district.
The CM said that CCTV cameras will be installed in the big villages of the state. He said that the work of installing streetlights in 750 villages with more than 10,000 population will also be
undertaken. In Bagpur village, Khattar announced to upgrade the girls’ primary school and sanctioned Rs 4.15 crore for Solra road and Rs 2.10 crore for Bagpur road, according to a statement.
Khattar greenlights rail link between IGI & Hisar airport
Haryana chief minister (CM) Manohar Lal Khattar has approved rail connectivity
between Indira Gandhi International Airport at Delhi and Maharaja Agrasen Airport at Hisar.
The link will be via BijwasanGurugram-Garhi Harsaru-Sultanpur-Farukhnagar-Jhajjar for freight as well as passengers. The feasibility report in this regard was presented in the meeting of Haryana Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation (HRIDC), presided over by chief secretary Sanjeev Kaushal, on Wednesday.
The chief secretary said the project will sanctioned by the Ministry of Railways. The rail link between Garhi Harsaru-Farukhnagar–Jhajjar will be developed in the first phase while the connectivity to Maharaja Agrasen Airport, Hisar, will be taken up in the second phase.
He said rail connectivity links will boost regional development, improve transportation efficiency, and promote sustainable mobility for both freight and passengers.
While reviewing railway projects, the chief secretary said that timeline and physical milestones for 2023-24 should be set.
HRIDC managing director Rajesh Agarwal said a loan of Rs 1,040 crore from Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has been sanctioned for the rail infrastructure projects in the state. Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor (HORC) was given an amount of Rs 874 crore under the scheme for special assistance to states for capital investment for 2022-23 by the Union finance ministry, he said.
