ctor Yami Gautam (left) is basking in the glory of her last film, Kaabil that did exceptionally well at the box-office and was lauded by the viewers too.

She says it doesn’t bother her when she’s compared to leading actors in the industry now. “I won’t say, I’m immune to these comparisons but I look at it as healthy competition. I believe, the moment I try and start investing more time in what others are doing, I will lose myself. So, I value these comparisons only because I’m an ambitious girl and want to be right up there. But I will not sign a film, if I am not getting that divine feeling,” says the actor, who made her debut with Vicky Donor (2012). Yami adds that it won’t be wise to let this competition affect and impact her choice of films and roles. She explains, “Somewhere, it’s the creative side of me, which has got me where I am today. If I start thinking only about outdoing others, I won’t be able to excel.”

It took her quite a while to prove her mettle and bag a film with an A-list actor such as Hrithik Roshan. Despite setting a new benchmark for herself, Yami says she never allows external factors to dominate her mind.

She says, “When I signed for Kaabil, of course, I was happy with all the names that were there but that wasn’t the feeling that dominated. I just knew, I’ve got an opportunity to do something that I’ve never done — I’ll get to work with the finest teams and they’ll get the best out of me.”
