ANTI ROMEO SQUAD: WHAT’S IN A NAME!
As the new government had promised in its manifesto, the formation of ‘AntiRomeo Squad’ is finally done and is on a roll for more than a week. The reason stated was that squad will keep a check on eveteasing cases.
Deployed near malls, university campuses and parks if they find boys roaming around or standing outside women educational institutes or other public places is ground enough to be detained as a “Romeo” by the police.
According to youngsters, from the state, this is a good move and the situation needs to be dealt with strict actions.
But in the midst of ranking the move there a few who definitely have an issue with the term Romeo being openly used with the entire movement. The name originated from Shakespeare’s famous novel and play Romeo and Juliet. And the play proves that Romeo was no eve-teaser and instead was a clearheaded lover of his time.
