‘I’M GLAD PEOPLE DIDN’T WRITE ME OFF DURING MY BREAK’

She has been away from the big screen since her last film, Kill Dill, in 2014. Her time away includes a self-imposed yearlong break. Now ready to face the box-office head on with a film release after two years, Parineeti Chopra is definitely excited, but also thankful.

“Even in my so-called ‘off period’, people thankfully didn’t forget me,” says the 28-year-old. “Had they written me off or didn’t miss me, I’d be like, ‘Oh my God, I didn’t make any impact in their lives.’ But that didn’t happen.”

Talking about the film (that also stars Ayushmann Khurrana), Pari jokes: “It feels like it’s my first release. Let’s see how people react.”

While the break was much-needed, says the actor, she wanted to achieve a level of fitness before signing her next. “I worked on my home, my life, my health,” says Parineeti, who opens up about being back in action.

Where do you see yourself in the industry as far as contemporaries such as Alia Bhatt, Shraddha Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor are concerned?

I’m a part of this gang of girls in films... Everybody has a flop or two or a hit as well, but we’re in this together.

The most beautiful thing is that we’re positive towards each other. We’re constantly in touch, encouraging each other.

Your personal life is back in news (rumours are she is dating an assistant director, Charit Desai).

As always and that’s okay (smiles)! It’s a little funny because a month or two months back, my best friend Sanjana and I had gone to Dubai, and when I came back, they linked me with her... I’m very much single.

We’ve been hearing the same thing (that she is single) forever...

Whether there’s someone in my personal life or not, I have decided that I won’t ever talk because people write absolute s***t. I have decided that just because I’m friends with people, their lives shouldn’t be affected. But I don’t want to get angry and be like, ‘It’s okay, you guys do your job and I will do mine (laughs).’

While on a break, I worked on my home, my life, my health PARINEETI CHOPRA, ACTOR
