This wedding season look your summery best

- Tanya Srivastava

Weddings are all about fun, enjoyment and looking your best. But the most dilemmatic situation before attending any wedding is how to dress up to perfection for the D-Day.

Dressing for winter parties is fairly easy in comparison to summer weddings as you need to dress up according to the seasonal trends. With the rising temperature one cannot go for the heavy embroidered attires because it would become very difficult to carry them along with matching accessories. When you go for a summer wedding there are few do’s and don’ts that one needs to keep in mind.

Designer and owner of Naya Anchal Boutique, Pooja Chaudary says, “Wedding functions in our country are always a grand affair. So one needs to look his or best and flaunt their bestest wear. But when it comes to weddings in summers I will always suggest going for the comfortable dressing in pastel palette. It is very important to go according to the fashion and yet feel comfortable. During summer weddings one should opt for lighter fabrics as they help your skin breathe and keep you sweat free. Accessories also should be minimal and hair tied in neat bun or maybe a braid with some flowery add ons. This will always make you look summery chic.”

One also needs to explore the local market a bit to find what best is available as well as fits the bill for the event. Another designer Sandhaya Sadhana adds, “Today the customer is smart enough they know the can’t wear anything and everything for summer weddings. So they demand summery shades and ask for cooler fabrics. It’s easier for me now as earlier I had to explain them the reason why I choose lighter shades for their apparel. My idea is wide cut long kurtas with flowy sharara or palazzo pants with an embroidered chunri to add ethnic touch to the attire.” Avantika, one of the buyers in the market who was looking for something different for her brother’s wedding next month, said, “I want something heavy on embroidery yet easy to carry because I want to enjoy the function and yet look the best. So I decided on a pastel coloured loose flowy outfit for the D-Day with pearl studded ear rings to do the needful as any other accessory be it bangles or necklaces will make me look overdone.” There are lot many options for summers too the only thing one should keep in mind is to take it easy and remember anything overdone be it make up, heavy attires or jewellery will make you look out of place at any summer wedding. So try being comfortably chic this summer.
