Parineeti called out for lying; says she was misunderstood
At a recent event in Mumbai, actor Parineeti Chopra opened up about how her family faced financial crunch in her schooling days. “I am from a small city, Ambala. We didn’t have any money, so I used to commute by cycle, to school. We did not have a car, or even money for the bus,” she said. A video of the same went viral.
The revelation, however, didn’t go down well with the actor’s classmates from Convent of Jesus and Mary, Ambala. They took to social media, calling her a “liar” looking for “publicity”. Clarifying her stance, Parineeti posted an official statement: “I know I said this, but it’s been misconstrued, about something irrelevant about me having a car or not! ... The essence of why I was giving an example was lost.”
