Singer and actor Ali Quli Mirza is back this Eid with back-to-back singles – ‘Habibi’ and ‘Let’s Party in the Pool’. The latter has been shot entirely in Lucknow but with a very western setting with international performers. Ali, who features in the single, has sung and directed the song.

“Habibi is a romantic song that was shot in Dubai. We will release it before Eid and soon after ‘Party in the Pool’ will be out which is a celebration song. Initially, we wanted to shoot the song in a foreign location but as producer Iqbal Ali, a businessman, comes from Lucknow and I am also from UP (Muzaffarnagar), we decided to shoot the song in Lucknow with a global setting,” he tells HT City.

The team shot the song at Palm Club at Ansal’s township. “We created a setting on the club’s pool side and shot it lavishly with a chopper, limousine and convertible Mercedes to give it a Las Vegas type feel. The song has been shot along with 60 foreign models. I am sure people will not be able to recognize that it has been shot in Lucknow. Iqbal has also featured in the song with me,” says the singer who is best known for his song ‘Bore Bore Hum’ (Bluffmaster) and reality show ‘Bigg Boss’.

The song was earlier recorded in Mumbai. “Paulami Majumdar and Ramji Gulati have composed the song while the lyrics are by Pankaj Gour. Paulami has also lent her voice in the song. It is a full-on party song and has good chance of making it to pool parties and discs. Summer holidays are a perfect time to release the song,” he adds.

“I have been trying to do a project in Lucknow for quite some time but nothing worked out. I am born here, though I was brought up in Iran. I wanted to give it back to my birthplace. Luckily, this opportunity came my way and here we are ready with the song!” he says.
