LA FINESSE BACK IN A BIGGER AVATAR
Lucknowites are in for a grand fashion soirée. To celebrate HT City’s eighth anniversary, Hindustan Times present La Finesse is back with its fashion series in a bigger avatar. Ace-designer Samant Chauhan, Sadan Pandey, Pallavi Madeshia Yadav and Fab Creations by Richa Mishra will showcase their latest collections at Golden Blossoms resort on Saturday evening (June 17).
Bigg Boss-fame and VJ Bani J, actor Rajneesh Duggal with Miss India Akanksha Chowdhury and Rashi Rao and supermodels Sonalika Sahay and Donna Masih along with a host of other models will walk the ramp.
Delhi-based designer Samant Chauhan will showcase the Rajputana collection. “The collection represents flow in silhouettes blended seamlessly with Bhagalpur silk fabric in my characteristic style, with an added element of special silk thread embroidery. It is all about the beauty of purity, instills a spark through strands of colors, with nudes and whites meeting the soul and floral colourful embroideries,” tells the Delhi NIFT alumnus, who has showcased at Singapore Fashion Week, London Fashion Week and Carousel Du Louvre, Paris.
Lucknow designer Sadan Pandey, who is based in Delhi and designs for Manish Paul, Ayushmann Khurrana, Rajneesh Duggal and Barun Sobti etc, will bring to the floor Illuminate collection. “It’s an evening collection with saturated shades of blue, dark green, maroon, dark red and black to make the individual shine and brighten the mood with their ecstatic presence. The collection has wide range of drapes, dresses, floor-length gowns, jackets and suits,” tells the designer who has done Bollywood film 22-Yards that hits cinemas later this year. Rajneesh will walk the ramp for Sadan.
Pallavi Madeshia Yadav, who also showcased her collection at HT La Finesse 2016, will be doing the grand finale this year. Known as bridal couture designer, she will be coming out of her comfort zone to showcase western collection The Book of Opulence, which is inspired by ancient Greek Goddesses. “From 20 ethnic dresses last year to 60 western garments in this show, the designs will include Lakhnavi handicraft, trail gowns and leather-crafted flower work,” she says.
Fab Creations by Richa Mishra, a Lucknowite, has earlier showcased her collections in Dubai, Bangkok and New Delhi. This time she is rolling out her Ethnic Summer Collection. “We are in that part of the year which is very hot and humid, so we have a collection which is light wear, has soothing colours, cozy comfortable fabric, cuts and fitting is ethnic yet is a party wear. This collection is exclusively for women between 16 to 60 years and above,” says Mishra. Bani J will be her showstopper.
Choreographers Ketan Bhatia and Pranav Hamal are the show directors for the event. Models Ankita Jain, Ashanti Singh, Kamya Ahalwat, Anuradha Sharma, Afreen Affy will also sashay down the ramp, says Sanjay Nigam, consultant for Akshara Communication, which has conceptualised the show.
