Orchard visit to kick-start Mango Festival
As a part of Uttar Pradesh Mango Festival, a two-day Orchard Visit event will be held on June 17 and 18. The mango lovers will go to Madhav Udyan, Malihabad.
The first day visit has been kept for the students while random visitors can join on the second day from 7 am to 11 amand7amto1pm respectively. The visits will include a mid-day brunch.
“The objective of this orchard visit is not only to give visitors an access to farm fresh mangoes but also making them aware of the benefits of purchasing fruit directly from farmers and acquaint them to a lifestyle which they probably would never see in urban areas,” says festival’s founder Jyotsna Kaur Habibullah.
In this visit, the organizers will educate and plants that are grown in India. “We will take our visitors on tractor rides to a nearby ancient temple with an interesting history. This orchard has been taken care of and nurtured over several years from generations and is an heirloom of 150 years therefore we wish to take up every action to safeguard its interests and save it from any sort of environmental abuse,” tells orchard visit coordinator Ankit Govila.
The visit will start from Paryatan Bhawan at 6:30 am on both days. Tickets have been priced at Rs 400 and 600 respectively. The main festival will at held at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan on June 24 and 25.
