Shenaz Treasury is unfazed by trolls

Trolling on social media is unavoidable, especially for celebrities. In this regard, actor Shenaz Treasury knows how to handle such people. Not reacting or responding to people who interfere in an actor’s private space, Shenaz says, “I like to use Michelle Obama’s line from the election — ‘when they go low, we go high.’ Most trolls are seeking attention by trying to get a response. So best is to ignore.”

Referring to recent incidents where actors such as Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Fatima Sana Shaikh and many others were mocked for what they chose to wear, Shenaz says silence is the best revenge. “A troll is only as powerful as your response to them, once you respond to them or let them instigate you, then you’ve given them power,” she adds.

However, Shenaz feels fortunate that she hasn’t been subjected to extreme trolling where people got downright nasty. The actor, who is quite active on social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram, has over the last 10 months, emerged as a travel and lifestyle influencer. Also, she feels that whether a post gets flak or not depends on its content.

“Most of my photos and stories are about travel and food. My selfies are not regular selfies. I give people a sneak peek into culture and lifestyles and experiences from around the world,” shares Shenaz.

The actor, who will soon be in a film, Kaalakaandi, with Saif Ali Khan, is proud of the fact that she delivers sensible content on a daily basis that resonates with her social media family. “My followers rely on my recommendations for making travel decision. There’s no space for trolls,” she quips.
