ctor Marina Benedict has been cast in the upcoming fourth season of the crime drama Gotham. The Prison Break star will feature as Cherry, the owner of a fight club, reported DigitalSpy. As per the story, Cherry's club is in the dangerous neighbourhood The Narrow, which is a regular haunt of Gotham's biggest delinquents. Apart from Benedict, actor Benjamin Stockham will also join the show as Bruce Wayne's new bestfriend, Alex Winthrop. Stockham's character is that of a museum curator’s grandson, whom Bruce happens to acquaint while tracking a mysterious artefact. Gotham season four premieres on September 21.

MActor-model Maddie Ziegler (right) says actor Kate Hudson (left) is one of her biggest inspirations. The 14-year-old dancer features with the Almost Famous actor in an upcoming mystery project by singer Sia. Ziegler claims the venture is something that will surprise the audience, reported Entertainment Tonight. “You’ll have to see! It’s really fun and like I said, it’s something completely different and something people won’t expect. She’s amazing, I mean she knows how to do everything, she’s the most incredible actor and she’s probably my biggest inspiration in life — she and Sia [are] two girl empowerment (icons), they’re amazing,” she said.

Director Milan Luthria is the master of the multistarrer. After churning out hits such as Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai (2010) and The Dirty Picture (2011), he is all set to return to the silver screen with the action thriller Baadshaho, starring his “brother from another mother”, actor Ajay Devgn.

Milan is all praise for the 48-year old actor. “A very strange thing happened recently,” says the director. “I gave an interview, and said that relationships develop and become stronger when the two people involved can comfortably pick up where they left off. Soon after my interview, I was watching an interview of Ajay for Baadshaho, and he said exactly the same thing!” Milan adds, “This is how it has mostly been — the thought is in my head, and Ajay says it.”

The hit duo has collaborated on Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai, Chori any might still remember Sheeba Akashdeep (left) as Sonia, from the 1992 film Suryavanshi, which also starred Salman Khan. After a couple of films such as Sanam Teri Kasam (2014) and television shows like Karishma— The Miracles of Destiny, the actor was missing from the limelight for a while. Now, Sheeba is all set to make her comeback on the small screen.

The actor feels that television has changed a lot over the years.“I like the fact that it’s larger than life now. I am someone, who likes to try out newer things and get into new spaces every day. I like some of the new shows. But, of course, sometimes we do go back to regressive content, which must be Chori (2003), and Milan’s directorial debut Kachche Dhaage (1999). Milan recalls how Ajay supported him even before he became a director. “He helped me start my first film. I’d visit him on the sets of his other films, too, when he was a big movie star.”

Ajay’s character Bhavaani in Baadshaho is a loyal guy and a bit of a badass. Milan reveals that the film has been in the making for “almost 15 years now”. He says, “The idea was discussed when we were working on Kachche Dhaage, and since then, we were waiting for the right time and right cast.” Baadshaho releases on September 1. avoided,” says Sheeba, who will play a negative role in her show.

For Sheeba, if there’s one thing that stands out in her showbiz career, it’s Suryavanshi. “It has been one of the biggest highlights of my career. Salman was a wonderful co-star. I feel so happy seeing the way he has taken his career forward. There are so many memories I have from the film and I can’t point to any one memory,” says Sheeba.

Suryavanshi was not the only project that Sheeba and Salman did together. “I produced a music album called Aag Lag Gayi thi and Salman Khan was featured in one of the songs. The album had eight tracks, and one of the romantic tracks featured Salman and me in it,” she recalls.

Makers of the controversial fiction show Pehredaar Piya Ki are looking for an actor to portray the role of prince Ratan Singh, after the show takes a 12-year-leap in October. He will replace Afaan Khan (above), who presently plays the nine-year-old prince. Reportedly, given the popularity of the show, a lot of actors have been sending in their audition tapes, hoping to bag the role.

Regarding the qualities the makers are looking for in the actor, a source says that he must look younger than Tejasswi Prakash, who plays Ratan’s wife. “It will be great if we get a fresh face. Whoever is showing interest is being asked to perform a scene from the show,” adds the source.

Pehredaar Piya Ki has been in the news for quite some time now. The show, which revolves around a nine-year-old prince married to an 18-year-old girl, has been getting flak for its regressive content. Recently there was a petition to the Information and Broadcasting Minister Smriti Irani, who asked Broadcasting Content Complaints Council (BCCC) to look into the matter. The BCCC asked the makers to change the time slot and also run a disclaimer saying that the show doesn’t promote child marriage.
