Ace fashion designer Manish Tripathi has come up with a start-up, which promises to make designer wears reachable for the masses.

The Lucknow-born NIFT grad, who has designed for several film stars, sportspersons and politicians, has worked in films such as Calendar Girls, Dirty Politics and the recent released Indu Sarkar.

“Having designed for celebs like Mallika Sherawat, Madhur Bhandarkar, Virendra Sehwag, Sourav Ganguly and Rajnath Singh I wanted to reach out to fashion conscious people in B-towns,” he says while revealing his target cities.

“In Delhi, Mumbai we have lot of clients and designers but in cities like Ranchi, Bhopal, Udaipur and my birthplace Lucknow we don’t have many options. So I designed this concept for them,” he says during his recent visit to his hometown.

He has come up with Designmee portal which is focused to fashion conscious people who want to buy designer stuff that too in affordable price.

“I have realized that sitting in Delhi I can’t cater to everyone including people in my own city. In tire-2 cities, like ours, people have aspiration, are design conscious and have money but can’t reach or afford a designer. This endeavor is to reach out to people in their respective towns and give them designer wear in affordable price equivalent to branded stuff available in market,” he says.

To know more about fashion they are given a free consultancy option. “People usually come to designers for fashion options. Here we have given an option of what to wear, when to wear and how to wear though live chat. It also has style guidelines and care instructions,” he adds.

Under this customers have option of readymade stuff which can further be customized. “Then we have made to fit options in which a tailor will do a home visit, take measurements and the dress will be prepared and send to home. Our biggest focus in on co-creation in which our designer will visit, will do the sketches, co-create design and make it for buyers,” he tells. They are targeting 42 cities by this fiscal and have already launched services in Agra, Udaipur, Lucknow and the NCR region.

Manish is also designing for Patanjali which is gearing to launch their big range of fashion line. The designer confirmed working on the upcoming range but did not divulge details about the collaboration.
