Selena flooded with best wishes after kidney transplant
On Thursday, soon after American popstar Selena Gomez revealed on Instagram that she had undergone a kidney transplant a few months ago, social media was abuzz with “get well soon” wishes from her fans. The 25-year-old’s best friend, fellow actor Francia Raisa donated her kidney to Selena, who is battling Lupus. The singeractor shared a picture of herself lying next to her friend in the hospital.
“Stay strong girl. We pray that you recover soon. Francia is a god sent angel, may you get the best of the world Much love and respect (sic),” wrote a fan, Mahima Roy.
In her post on Instagram, Selena stated that she had been lying low and was unable to promote her new music, as she found out that she needed to get a kidney transplant due to Lupus and was recovering.
Wishing a speedy recovery, another fan, Brian Dixon, wrote: “I know what you’re going thru. I had a kidney transplant back in 2009 after 5 years on dialysis. But I have back on dialysis for 6 years now and am on the transplant list again. Wishing you all the best in the world. Take care, from your new kidney pal (sic).”
Some fans even thanked Selena for discussing Lupus, and spreading awareness. “It’s very brave of you to continue making beautiful music. You are such a role model for all the girls globally... let music continue to be your healer (sic)” wrote Claire Adams.
