Thirteen years after making his debut actor Bhanu Uday feels that his good time has finally arrived. Ready with his new TV show Saam Daam Dand Bhed (SDDB) and forthcoming film Manto, he says that all these years he spent in the industry were more of a learning period.

“I am a 2004 National School of Drama (NSD) passout. My first movie Lakshya came in 2004 while my first TV show Special Squad happened in 2005. The number of films and movies that I have done are lesser than the years that have gone by. But, now my time has come. All these years were my training period and I am taking this as my debut,” he tells HT City.

“God has been kind to me. My struggle was never for food, house or work. It was just that I was craving for my kind of work. I strongly believe that whatever is destined for me no one can take it away so I just kept honing my skills,” said the actor who has appeared in films like Dhokha, Monsoon, Machhli Jal Ki Rani Hai and Un-Freedom. On his show SDDB on Star Bharat he says: “It’s a dream role that I have been offered. I was surprised by the wonderful script which is rarely written on TV. Fortunately, Manto (a biopic on famed writer Saadat Hasan Manto) will also hit screen soon where I have played the role of actor Ashok Kumar. So, it’s a happy phase…and all of this is happening because of my leaning process that I have gone though all these years.”

Elaborating about the show he says, “In real life I am a very emotional but in today’s scenario one needs to apply SDDB. Only thing I can apply for myself is saam (humble request) rest of the things is not my cup of tea. But, I am fine with it as I can’t bribe someone, threaten or play with secrets as the title suggest.” In the show he plays a simple guy who after some incident becomes a successful young politician.

“I believe that there is nothing right or wrong in life. It’s the circumstances that compel people to take extreme steps. There are ways to deal with problems — either you break or bounce back with full vigour,” says the Humari Sister Didi actor.

The story of the show is by Kamal Pandey — writer of film like Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Return and Run.

“He is from Uttar Pradesh and his understanding about politics is very good. The good thing is that the story is in place and hope it continues the way it has been planned,” says the actor.
