PUBERTY PICS FOR PUERTO RICO
International celebrities are sharing gawky puberty pictures to raise money for the victims of Hurricane Maria
Even stars looked weird when they hit puberty. Don’t believe us? Well, a host of international celebrities, including several TV stars and musicians, have uploaded “awkward” photos of themselves during their teenage years to raise money and awareness for the victims of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico, Caribbean Islands.
The initiative was kicked off by TV host Stephen Colbert and actor Nick Kroll, who uploaded their photos, asking others to do the same and raise money for the victims in the Unincorporated territory of the US (Unincorporated territory is an area controlled by the United States government that is not part of the US and the American constitution only applies partially there).
Soon, several celebrities, including popular show hosts Jimmy Kimmel and James Corden, actors America Ferrera and Kumail Nanjiani, uploaded their photos with the hashtags, #PuberMe and #PuertoRico.
Puerto Rico was among the many places to have been hit by Hurricane Maria, on September 16. The other hugely affected nation is Dominican Republic.
On Wednesday night, during the TV talk show, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the 53-year-old host, invited celebrities to help raise money for the victims.
In exchange of celebrities’ puberty photos, Colbert and actor Nick Kroll vowed to donate money to the victims.
