Karan V Grover has been staying up all night as he has been shooting for a musical web series. “Shooting night shifts is hectic and tiring,” says the Yahaaan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli (YMGGK) actor. He is excited to be playing a troubled rock star in the web series produced by Vikram Bhatt. Karan says that he finds web series exciting as they are “limited and shot like a film. I am enjoying this role as I have never played a disturbed character. I have always played the good boy.”

Karan started his career with the TV show Saarrthi in 2004 and later starred in many hit shows such as Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki, Punar Vivah - Ek Nayi Umeed, and Bahu Hamari Rajni Kant. Currently, he is seen as the host of the Krushna Abhishek starrer The Drama Company, which is a “new avenue” for him. “Hosting is fun. The show’s concept is interesting and we have such good talent on the show. I am a huge fan of Sugandha Mishra and the fabulous Sanket Bhosale. I have hosted award shows but never a TV show, and doing this one is fun as the script is hilarious. I try to crack jokes on the stage and keep up the banter with Mithun da (Mithun Chakraborty, actor) and he keeps taking my case.”

Karan debuted in Bollywood with Wedding Pullav and later starred in the hit TV show Bahu Hamari Rajni Kant. In August 2016, he quit the show as he got an offer for a film. But the film got shelved. “It was disappointing as we were ready to start shooting but post December, it simply didn’t take off. We were a month away from shooting and then we learnt that it was happening. It was difficult but it the nature of the job — the uncertainty,” he says.
