Aplay ‘Doc In The Dock’ staged at Sangeet Natak Academy on October 5 and 6 saw the audience laugh out loud. The action of the play takes place in the doctor’s common room at a hospital in London. Directed by Faisal Husain, the twohour comedy saw principal of La Martiniere College, Carlyle McFarland playing role of Dr David Mortimor, entreprene-ur, Kiron Chopra as Sir Drake along with other key characters.

The story proceeds with an indiscreti­on that was committed two decades earlier, returns to haunt the noble doctor. But the quick-talking, blustering doctor has excuses up his sleeve. An Asian wife rules not only the home but the hospital – a friendly place, filled with a miscellany of Asian staff and patients, ready to perform pantomimes or to swear in dialect!

Others who were on stage included Varun Egbert, Vandana Singh, Craig Kerr, Sameera Shahani, Tazeen Husain, Diya Badgel, Viraj Egbert, Vidit Narain, Mohd Rashid and Priti Chawla.

The stage management was done by Madhu Santosh, Gagandeep Singh, Roohul Husain, back stage assistance by Tahira Rizvi, Stuti Agarwal and Vishal Malhotra

The play was produced by ACTORS — Amateur Creative Talents on Repertory Shows — a voluntary amateur theatre group based in Lucknow. The group is committed to present production­s annually for the English theatre lovers in Lucknow.
