Lucknow youths eagerly await Padmavati release
Even as the protests against Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period film Padmavati get shriller, the Lucknow youth are disappointed over the uncertainty looming large over the release of the movie.
The ongoing row and delay in the release of ‘Padmavati’ have also increased the interest of the youth.
A research scholar Sumit Pathak says anything that is controversial draws your attention even more.
“This is human nature. I would definitely want to watch the movie at least to have an informed opinion regarding the ongoing controversy over the film,” he says.
“I have no interest in politics, no matter how controversial things have been about Padmavati, I am still eager to watch it,” says Harshit Tiwari, a Mass Communication student.
“I’ll watch it not to gain knowledge about history. We can find in books. I will go to the movie for entertainment,” he adds.
Neetu Yadav, a BTech student, says she is disappointed with the controversy and the delay in Padmavati’s release.
“The ongoing controversy has made me even more excited for the movie. Right now, no other movie can draw my attention as I am a Deepika fan. So yes, I am excited,” she says.
“I hope the movie gets its final release date soon. It’s sad to see how educated people get involved in the controversy. People jump to conclusions too early without even knowing the full details,” says youngster Shubham Valmiki.
“Bhansali is a renowned director and I don’t think he will do anything that would hurt the sentiments of Rajputs,” he adds.
“I will watch this movie as it will help me tell the people how characters have been portrayed exactly. If the dates clash with Salman’s ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, I may change my mind as I never miss Salman-Katrina movie”, says Shubham Chaturvedi.
Though the younger generation is excited about the movie, some others have a different opinion over the delay in its release.
Salman’s ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, Pulkit Samrat’s ‘Fukrey Returns’, Taapsee Pannu’s ‘Mulk’ are some of the movies are scheduled to release in December.
