FEST FRENZY EVERYWHERE
Amit Trivedi’s electrifying live concert on Sunday night provided the perfect end to the three-day extravaganza at IIM Lucknow’s Manfest-Varchasva that brought with it a plethora of business, cultural and sports events. The audience were left mesmerised by the scintillating and soulful performance by the musical maestro Amit Trivedi and his crew.
The concert featured some of the famous scores by Amit Trivedi including soulful Yeh Fitoor Mera, to the energizing dance numbers from Ud-daa Punjab. The concert witnessed an overwhelming crowd of people from all age group who thoroughly enjoyed the night. Hindustan Times was the media partner to the three- day extravaganza.
The concluding day witnessed the presence of Ruchira Gupta, an Indian sex trafficking abolitionist, journalist and activist. She motivated the audience to be resilient during tough times and bounce back without breaking. She gathered a huge applause from the crowd for her words which said ‘Happiness comes from something to do, something to look forward to and someone to love. ’Kalki Subramanian, an activist, author, an actor and the founder of Sahodari Foundation, which works for the social, economic and political empowerment of transgender persons in India was another speaker at the social conclave.
Sunday morning saw 2000 of youngsters came out on the streets to take part in the 9th edition of Lucknow City Run organised by IIM Lucknow’s Manfest-Varchasva in association with 1090 Women’s Power Line, UP themed “Every Voice Deserves to be Heard”, to show solidarity to the cause. The run began from Lohia Park in Gomti Nagar. While men were required to cover a distance of 10 km, women had to run 5 km.
On the opening day, lyricist, music composer and actor Piyush Mishra touched upon the controversy around Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Padmavati. Piyush said he could not understand the hue and cry. Directors took creative liberty while making films and it should not be opposed.
