A ctor Shashank Vyas turned a year older recently and feels that he has matured as a person. The actor is also happy with how he has gained wisdom while facing challenges as well as good moments.

“I am content with what life has given me. And with every passing year, I feel that I have become wiser. One important thing that I have learnt from my parents (Vipin Vyas and late Geeta Vyas) is that everybody is special, and no one should be treated as an inferior,” says the actor, who became a household name while playing the character of Jagya in the popular show Balika Vadhu.

He rang in his 31st birthday with a visit to Shirdi with his father. And his childhood and industry friends, Altaf Khan, Shivin Narang, Gaurav Jain and Anuj Sullere came over to wish him. “My birthday is like any other day. But my friends turned up to wish me, and I, of course, felt special. The one person I miss the most on such days is my mother,” he adds.

About being an actor, Shashank says that he does not want to follow any norms. “I’ve reduced socialising and prefer reading, and not missing out on my gym routine over glib talk. Actors try to follow the norm of being an actor.

But I am a simple person and live life on my terms. If you are talented, good work will come your way sooner or later,” he says.
