Make scrubs and SPF your best friends

- (With inputs by experts Pallavi Mehra and Arzoo Shah)

The winter season brings with it dry and flaky skin. To counter this, exfoliate your lips, face, and body once a week, and don’t forget your sunscreen, suggest experts.

Here are some tips to battle winter woes effectively:

Exfoliate: Between the cold air outside and the dry indoor heating, your skin cells get dehydrated in winters, leading to a build-up of dead skin. This makes exfoliation a must. For a homemade fix, you can mix ground coffee with brown sugar and macadamia oil. Choose a radiant base: This winter, opt for a foundation that offers a dewy finish. A peach and pumpkin palette is the perfect substitute for bronzer during winter and offers a natural look. Cream-based blushes: To bring back that healthy flush this winter, cream blush is the need of the hour. A moisturising formula with a hint of colour can give your cheeks an imperceptible glow. Hydrating primer: A lightweight primer with a serum-like texture presents a great canvas for makeup. Illuminating primers mattify the skin for that extra dose of radiance.

SPF: Applying sunscreen to your face and hands every morning is essential, even in winters. If you are anxious about the chemicals in sunscreens, opt for children’s sunscreens as they are just as effective while being extra gentle on your skin.

Don’t shy away from

supplements: Take supplements to give your skin some additional lift, especially in winters. Pay special attention to vitamins E, C, and B2, which will support the creation of skin cells.

THE BUILDUP OF DEAD SKIN CAN CLOG YOUR PORES, LEADING TO ACNE. EXFOLIATION, THUS, IS A LIFE SAVIOUR IN WINTER
