Varun, Shraddha team up again!

Dhawan and Kapoor shake their legs to Guru Randhawa’s hit Punjabi number, ‘High rated gabru’ for an upcoming film

They have been friends since childhood, who went on to star in the 2015 hit, ABCD 2. Now, HT Café has exclusively learnt that Shraddha Kapoor and Varun Dhawan are set to be seen together in a special song from the film, Nawabzaade. Interestingly, Shraddha and Varun will be seen shaking their legs to Guru Randhawa’s hit Punjabi number, ‘High rated gabru’ in the film. It’s believed that choreographer-director Remo D’Souza recreated the song in a Mumbai studio.

“It was a lot of fun sharing screen space with Shraddha again. We are very comfortable with each other,” says Varun, even as Shraddha admits that she “was extremely charged to work with Varun, Remo sir, Bhushanji [Kumar] and others from the ABCD 2 gang again”. “I was even more excited when I got to know that the video is for ‘High rated gabru’ since the song is so loved and fantastic. The whole experience was a lot of fun. I felt very nostalgic,” adds Shraddha.

The film — directed by Jayesh Pradhan and presented by Bhushan Kumar and Remo – will feature actors such as Dharmesh Yelande, Raghav Juyal and Punit Pathak. “They are talented boys, so I had to be part of this film in some way,” says Varun. Bhushan feels since Varun and Shraddha have “developed a fantastic camaraderie with the ABCD 2 actors”, it’s “not surprising that they instantly agreed to be part of the video.”

Remo, who has choreographed the video, feels that “sometimes, things just magically fall into place.”
